We began in the mid-1970s, in response to a need for continuing education and professional enrichment specifically designed for dental assistants and hygienists. As the scope of practice for hygienists and assistants increased, we were always involved in that expansion and often the first providers to be approved for special certification courses in such things as coronal polish, radiation safety, sealants and local anesthesia, nitrous oxide and STC.
In 2009, we also became the first provider to be approved to offer the RDAEF2 program and have set the standard for EF2 education ever since. The majority of the staff and faculty have worked for J Productions for many years. Our goal has always been to urge each student to achieve the highest level of proficiency while we provide a friendly, supportive, environment.
The executive officer for J Productions Dental Seminars, Inc. is Joan Greenfield, MS, RDAEF2, OA. Ms. Greenfield was a professor in the Dental Health Department at Sacramento City College and was also the Director of their Dental Continuing Education Department. She also wrote the original RDA review manual that was used by over 35,000 individuals to help pass the RDA written state examination. For many years, Ms. Greenfield fought to add many new functions to the scope of practice of the RDA and helped create the EF2 category. Ms. Greenfield has a passion for seeing her students achieve and has received many awards for excellence in education, including Educator of the Year, Woman of the Year in Dentistry, and many others.
OUR CLINICAL FACILITY
We utilize a beautifully appointed, contemporary dental facility in the historic gold rush town of Auburn, California. The facility is just 30 minutes from the Sacramento International Airport and downtown Sacramento.
Because all our students are already dental professionals, we have chosen to utilize a "real world" facility for the hands-on portion of our programs. We feel that this type of setting is more relaxed and provides a better atmosphere to learn than a traditional school setting. It also fits in with our overall philosophy of education and our helpful, friendly faculty and staff .
